The Inside Out of Networking – Disgust

If you have children between the ages of six and 16, the chances are you will have seen – or you will shortly see – the latest Pixar movie, Inside Out, this summer’s big blockbuster.

Inside the mind of an 11-year-old American girl called Riley are five emotions; Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger and Fear. They operate her moods from a control panel and are wrestling for control of the girl’s emotions.

When it comes to networking I believe you and I have some or all of those same emotions.


You and I and will be disgusted on occasions when we come across pure rudeness. People who decide they don’t want to talk to you and look over our shoulder or impart body language which firmly tells you there are others at the event they’d rather talk to.
