"The training session you delivered to my firm yesterday was interesting, engaging, amusing and useful. It was nothing short of excellent and got lots of people fired up and thinking about how to win new business. I got my money's worth so many thanks indeed."

After school, university, law college you start work.
You provide clients with expert legal advice and assistance. The best solicitors combine legal expertise with people-skills to help their clients cope with stressful situations such as divorce, bereavement, moving house or arrest. If you are involved in commercial or corporate work that too has its own pressures. Not to mention very long working hours.
You could work in a law firm – perhaps even your own. But you might work in central or local Government, an in-house legal department such as a bank or corporation, the Crown Prosecution Service or the Magistrates' Courts. The one constant is working with people and building relationships. It’s known as networking and every relationship ever created is built on 3 key steps. Step one is meeting someone for the first time. The second step is the key – can you build rapport and get them to like you? The final step is creating trust quickly at the start.
Doing the technical work you have been trained for gets easier as you progress through the years. But today there’s more to the job than just giving advice. Most people haven’t been trained in the ‘soft skills’ and that’s where we can help.
Networking is a fundamental skill you need to ensure your aspirations are achieved. When you’re not a good networker or do it with a heavy heart it will not stop you being successful but when you are an effective and confident networker I believe you cannot fail to become successful.
If you’re in a practice, whether as a new trainee or a senior partner, it is now expected that you will have some involvement with business development. This primarily means networking. If you’re in industry or business, networking is just as important to ensure you are visible within your organisation and that you keep up to date with what is happening in your area of expertise.
We have created a networking pipeline system to make it so simple for you to learn. Our extensive research over the past ten years shows that 99% of people fear networking. Your 3 key fears are fear of rejection, fear of failure and fear of the unknown. We destroy these fears for you ensuring you attend every business event, both external and internal, in the right frame of mind.
Watch this video below to learn why networking is so important to solicitors:
Do you want to stand out from the crowd? Do you want the status and the rewards of partnership or directorship? If so, become a more effective and confident networker; we’re here to help you.

Even they have to network now very early in their careers or when they are seeking out the firm of their dreams. This involves working a room which, even for the most experienced partner comes with fears and concerns. Will Kintish has recently written very useful articles entitled "Working the Room" and 'Casting your net' at Lawyer2b.com which will be of use to new law graduates.
Husnara Begum, editor of The Lawyer, was kind enough to write her own critique of Kintish in The Lawyer. "The Art of Networking" is available to read on The Lawyers website.
