"Thank you for a wonderful and inspirational day. Now I know networking is not nearly as scary as I thought, and I just need to carry on being sociable but listen at the same time."
Heather Clark, West Wedge Early Years Service

When one hears the word networking, people often associate it with marketing, selling and promotion. Whilst that is partially true, everyone in the world from about the age of 2, networks. Why?

Because networking is simply building relationships. It’s all about communication. These days, with the growth of social media and the mobile phone, the art of face to face contact can sometimes be overlooked. But there can never be a substitute for making good connections, by attending both internal and external events.

We show you how to feel comfortable and in control when you work the room in any business or social situation. ‘Working the room’ has negative connotations but only when done in an inappropriate manner. We show you how to do it ethically and honesty; after all it’s simply talking to different people!

When you spot a potential opportunity to move the relationship forward we help you to make that follow up phone call in a comforting manner

Amongst the many reasons we encourage everyone to network is to:

  • Build partnerships with business and industry
  • Create partnerships with other departments and outside organisations
  • Find a new employee for your team
  • Find out what the competition is doing
  • Find people who supply goods and services you may need
  • Get known by others
  • Get others to know what you do
  • Help others with their business challenges
  • Increase your knowledge of your marketplace
  • Make new social and business friends
  • Meet key people and decision makers for partnerships and fundraising
  • Raise your own and the organisation’s profile

We have created a networking system to make it so simple for you to learn. Our substantial research over the last ten years shows 99% of people fear networking. Your 3 key fears are fear of rejection, fear of failure and fear of the unknown. We destroy those fears for you ensuring you attend every business event, both external and internal, in the right frame of mind.

Why do you and colleagues need to network?

For your organisation to become successful you need to collaborate, create partnerships and build alliances. The only way for you to do this is to meet others at different types of events. Working a room and following up are skills most people are never taught and the majority fear. The result of this is it is always easiest to say no to an invitation and just keep on doing what you have always done.

When people in your organisation attend more events they gain more knowledge and meet key people and decision makers which often starts a business relationship for everyone’s benefit.

The benefits of our training

Lack of self confidence is the fundamental reason people who aren't in marketing and selling don't take risks or do something different from the norm. Most of the audiences we work with are people in the professional and financial world who find business development and networking somewhat of a challenge. We cannot give people self confidence, but what we do is give them tips, techniques and ideas. When they practice and implement them, our audiences find their self confidence builds automatically and business development becomes a natural and integrated part of their daily life.

3 reasons why people generally don't like networking and following up:

  1. They don't like being taken out of their comfort zone
  2. They don't like failure
  3. They don't like rejection

How we can help?

In simple step-by-step processes we show delegates how to:

  • work a room in a confident and effective manner
  • follow up potential opportunities with a professional and positive approach

As a result of our training, delegates will:

  • accept more business invitations.
  • prepare carefully in advance.
  • meet more people and therefore build more relationships.
  • ask more of the right questions.
  • listen more carefully and spot more needs.
  • create more potential business and career opportunities.
  • make more follow up phone calls.
  • arrange more meetings as a result of the follow up call.
